Monsterpocalypse is one of those “big tent” games where people from all over the place come together to share in the game. That doesn’t happen by accident though. It takes time, effort, and expertise to create events that bring folks together. Daniel Fackelman is one of these people. Want to know what it takes to build a community, host an event, or teach MonPoc to your friends? Tune in to find out!

Really neat. Would love to see an example of one of your pre-built armies Daniel.
Hi folks. As a member of Daniel’s playgroup (and I’m sure that he wouldn’t mind if that wasn’t the case), I just thought that I would jump on here and add my thoughts.
I’ll just preface this by saying that I personally appreciate and applaud what he’s done for the community. So in case I haven’t said it before, kudos, Dan.
That said, something that has been brought up allot locally is that while Daniel has managed to create a scene from practically nothing, we’re currently having some issues with sustainability. Running demos every waking hour and loaning out armies en masse is a fantastic way to create rapid growth in a playgroup, as he’s demonstrated. However, our tournaments dropped from about 8+ players three months ago to just myself and a new guy. Granted, there’s a number of mitigating factors involved in the collapse, like the University being on summer break (over a quarter of the gamers in Toledo are college students, and about 90% of the MonPoc players) or the fierce loyalties to particular game shops. However, a stable playgroup in the Toledo area would definitely be preferable, and I’m not sure if his current approach will lead to that goal long-term. On a positive note though, IF Daniel can manage to drum up support once again, it will definitely stand as a testament to his awesomeness as a Pressganger.
And just to bust his balls; Seriously, dude, get some certified mail on that prize support.
A+
Daniel, you’re an inspiration. I can’t wait to see you again at Bashcon. Let’s make it a HUGE success!
Oh, and karaoke this time!
You will see Daniel sooner than you think.
Dude. I’m going to GenCon. See you there and karaoke
So… How’s that novel coming? And by that I mean the footage from BASHCon. XD
Also, Dan be cool.
It’ll go up.
So much to do!
Nice podcast, thanks for sharing Daniel!
Hey Dan!
Any chance you can bring another of those 4-player maps (like the one you took to Moncon) up to Gencon? I’ll buy it off you if you do! I need one of those for the LA crowd!
Josh
By the way Dan,
I do have to see your demo skills in action myself. I’m still a PG Padawan, and you seem to be a PG Master. I’m perfecting my demo skills, but I definitely want to learn more from you.
