Let’s face it, I Chomp NY was an odd monster of a set. Even with all of the oddness involved, it appears that there are some really great units that were featured in the set. Let’s talk about a few:
G1 Strike Fighter – Even without say… Sky Sentinel, these 8 speed, short-ranged, natural b-die destroyers of monsters are great to have. Potentially worth splashing in an Elemental Champions force.
Katana – What Shadow Sun force isn’t decked out with these in full force? High Impact just takes these guys to a new level. While Cyber Khan already grants High Impact to your force, Gorghadratron and the rest of the collaborators are in need of these units of destruction.
Scorcher – Suddenly just got a bit better with Blue Radar on Mucustos or Blue Cloak on Mantacon. These little fire starters are a great addition to any Destroyers force.
Corruptor – Flank. Cool. Red Overload on the elite…. sick! Imagine your Grindix now doing 2 damage on each of his lightning attacks OR on each of his grinds? Ugh. Now with the music producers, you can spawn these little boogers all across the map.
Marauder – Explosion anyone?
Pteradactix – I cannot say enough about these high flying, towing machines. When I’m going second (using apes of course) I’ll spend 3 any day to spawn, move, and tow. If your opponent is good he’ll see this and secure with 4. So what! You just made him use an extra 2 a-die and waste a unit spawn!
All of this and we’ve only hit on ONE unit from each faction. Throw in elites, and the other unit and you’ve opened the door to some awesome splashing with Now or a great start to playing a Rise block monster.
The Problem
Because of the oddness of this set, the availability of these singles has been spotty at best. So if you wanted G1’s you had to scrounge ebay and hope to get them. Well, in line with our recent set of products, we’ve had this wonderful idea to get you all of this splashing power for one, great price.
The Solution
The I Chomp NY Faction Pack! Great, so what is it? Each faction pack includes
1 x Each Rare
2 x Each Uncommon
3 x Each Common
This comes to 8-9 units per faction pack (depending on the faction). Now you’re thinking sure… this sounds great. But how much?
How does $13.97-$14.97 sound? This isn’t April 1st, so it’s no joke (that’s coming later!). Go to our store now (right here) and get your orders in! The pre-orders end on Monday!

NEAT! I need the common G1s so bad… common my butt!
Dre, I think the “common” G1s are actually “uncommon”
The faction pack should provide you with 2 though, if I’m right.
One quibble. High Impact on the Katana would do the Ubercorp no good. High Impact specifically says “If this unit is tha same FAC as your monster…”
However, this is an awesome deal! Also, I’m so glad that people are finally splashing. Hop in, folks: the water is fine!
Red High Impact does Übercorp all the good in the world. Put the Katana adjacent to his Agenda brethren and they’ll all be toting High Impact. Katana itself doesn’t benefit, but it’s a decent unit and able to bring that red High Impact most places on the map without a problem.
Any force that lacks Explosion/Chain Reaction should run a Katana, imo. I’m splashing one with my elementals now. Katana + Fire Kamis = Unit Destruction.
It’s just a shame that Rage doesn’t trigger on every additional Chain Reaction attack =(
And if you don’t mind me asking, why not?
Chain Reaction is a trigger on the Katana. It reads:
CHAIN REACTION— If target unit is destroyed, use the dice in play to make the same type of attack against 1 enemy unit adjacent to it, regardless of the number of spaces between the attacker and the new target.
Though you are making another attack with the same dice, it is only the Katana making the attack, not the Katana and the Fire Kamis, so only Advantages on the Katana would still happen.
The first attack is made with Katana/Fire Kamis, but every attack that happens off of the Chain Reaction trigger is just made by the Katana.
Clear?
Now if something has an advantage with chain reaction, etc then it would trigger off each. So, parking Tyrannix next to the Green Fury vans == crapload of P-dice.
My units got hurt BAD once by the GUARD morpher that had chain reaction + marker.
