A group of gamers. Gamers inspired enough to know they can, with the help of other gamers, change gaming. Who have an unshakable confidence that games ought to be an important interaction between humans. Who know deep within that games can serve as a connection that bridges the gap between sex, race, culture, and religion. That through games, the world and society as a whole can become better.
A company. One adamant that gamers deserve better. Better places to buy games. Better places to meet gamers. Better places to share their gaming experience. A better company to continuously produce quality gaming content.
ORIGIN American English (as a noun), from Old English, via gaming experiment as a website (online store) in late 2006, from The Spoils TCG in 2007 and into Monsterpocalypse in 2009.
Quality, consistency, community, creativity. This is what we are about. I don’t need to run through our mission statement, nor do I need to throw in quotes from overly satisfied customers and supporters. Talk to our customers. Go ahead and place an order. See what you get. It is our job, no, our duty to make sure it isn’t just another purchase online. To ensure that when you purchase from us you know you are involved in something much bigger than yourself.
Because to us and to you, it’s something more important than a simple purchase. It’s an investment in the future of gaming. Part of a movement. It’s you taking part in the most ground-breaking revolution in the history of gaming.
You see, we aren’t here to make money from your gaming habit and walk away with hefty pocket loads of cash. Our intent is much deeper than that. We’re here to stay… and I guarantee you that wherever we decide to stay is bound for change. This is simply because we refuse to settle. We absolutely refuse to believe that games can’t be better, because they can be. They must be, or they will die. To be better, the whole process will have to change. From producing, to selling, to marketing. Changed drastically. Reborn.
It’s going to take a lot for this rebirth to occur. It’s going to take you. Me. Steven working on our website just a few feet to my right. The person you are going to beat at your next tournament. The person who you are going to lose to at your next tournament. The people out there who are making games right now. Those attending conventions. It’s going to take us all doing our little part.
We’ve chosen to start by changing the way that gamers buy their product online. From here, it will expand. Before long, we will be changing how games are played, how they are made, how they are bought, how tournaments are run, and the list just keeps going.
We don’t hope that we will change the gaming industry – we know we will. So now you stand at a fork in the road. Yes, you can buy from all those other websites. You might even find cheaper prices. However, if you choose that path, you will not be able to say that you were a part of Covenant. In fact, you will look back and wish you had been a contributor.
If you choose the other path, if you choose to be a part of this, then I welcome you. You are going to see things you never thought possible. You are going to be involved in things you have only dreamed. And at the end of it all when great things are accomplished, you will be able to say that you played your part. When people ask how Covenant became a success, there will be hundreds, thousands, and maybe hundreds of thousands of gamers around the world to whom I will point.
Welcome to the revolution. Gaming Reborn.
Zach
