Skorne BB nearly assembled. Just short a shoulder spike and back banners.
The banners really bring the group together.
I just hope my epoxy is strong enough to keep them from falling off. The back-cloths on the Savages were super annoying, but the banners at least have more than a single point of contact…or at least the Gladiator’s does.

Holy… The art for the Khador Colossal is nuts. These will be awesome. Can’t wait.
Can’t wait either. And if you watch to the end past the credits, you see that the Colossal concept is coming for Hordes as well. Maybe they’ll call them Leviathans, but whatever it is called it will be sweet.
I’m going to need a bigger hobby tray to paint those….
Khador’s is great. The Merc’s is epic. I cannot wait to run a theme list with Broadsides Bart, Mariner, Freebooter, Press Gangers, Sea Dogs and all of those solos. I dont care if it isnt competitive, it will look unbelievable!
Ugh, so now I have to get my hands on a War Wagon and whatever that Troll is and find time to paint them both. I haven’t even finished painting my battlebox set! I can’t wait!
WM versions come out in July….Hordes version probably not until Fall 2012, so you have some time!
It’ll probably be Fall 2012 before I get the War Wagon, if I even get it that soon. Either way, it’s going to be so much to paint. I have a feeling I’ll be busy with it for a very very long time.
Call me when we see the Menoth and/or Retribution versions!

I’ll let other continue to gush over how cool they look (color me impressed). Besides wanting to see the Cryx Kraken, I’m curious about the other figures in the book. Will there be another set of new casters, or will we get an epic version of an existing one? And perhaps there will be a full infantry squad this time, instead of just an attachment.
Some more random thoughts…
Comment on the PP boards suggests that the Legion colossal will be Thagrosh3…after he consumes yet another athanc. Watch as I fall away in mad, frothy stupor thinking about how to paint that idea up…

2 stat cards, with the damage grid broken into L/R sides…anyone recall the BFM from M:tG Unglued? I’m having flashbacks, only with more drool, less LOL, this time around…
Between this news, and seeing the Zee/Young/Bunn photos of painted minis on the table, I’m getting more incentive to finish up my Legion.
I’ve heard some suggestion that the Troll will be Mulg, which is appropriate, fluff-wise, as Mulg is supposed to be the oldest and therefore biggest dire Troll in existence. I doubt it though, because I don’t really imagine these as characters. I suppose that’s the Siege Engines tainting my view though.
I’d hope they won’t be characters….and from what’s leaked so far, they can’t be, as they’re FA 2. From a retail perspective, you want players to be able to field more than 1 legally, so making them Characters limits how many you’ll sell to players. Modellers won’t care, but then the high price tag might scare some away.
I’ve made some big dragon kits that are about this size, and I’ve found that bigger kits are easier to paint than smaller ones. These look to have lots of details, but the scale is still so much bigger.
I hadn’t seen the FA or cost on any of the cards. The one they showed in the video seemed like it didn’t have those on it, but I didn’t look very closely. In any case, I doubt they’d make them characters for the reasons you mentioned.
I just hope that they come out at a good point-cost:value (I’m hoping higher end for better abilities) but until I see the stats for the troll, I won’t get my hopes up.
There’s a Spoiler thread at the PP forums that contains more info in text: Point cost 18-20 each, FA2, 2 new kids of power attacks, Reach, no Nodes, huge bases, part of the Battlegroup and use Focus (so Hordes versions will presumably use Fury).
Debate now seems to be if they will have the staying power of justify what amounts to 2 heavy slots.
Oh, and they are 6 times the size of most heavy figures!
Not sure how I feel about the Kraken. I mean, it’s nifty as heck and will probably be a joy to build, but I’m not leaping at the chance to field it the way I was (still am) for the Wraith Engine.
Hm. Think I can snag a cheap Wraith Engine while everyone’s excited about these?
Interesting, because I’m more keen on fielding a Kraken than the Wraith Engine. Particularly if it’s based off of the crab-jack design. I feel that the Wraith Engine is more of a support piece for other figures, while (hopefully) the Kraken will be an offensive tank of a giant necrotite fueled warmachine.
Fernando, I think you’re the first person I have heard say they were leaping at the chance to use a battle engine.
I guess maybe Tim Bunn can be included in this as well…

I have the opposite feeling… I’d like to buy, assemble and paint one but I don’t think I’d ever use an battle engine (except maybe Circle’s).
It might have something to do with how I’ve never had a “big centerpiece model” for any of the armies I’ve played.
I’d like to paint several of them….Troll War Wagon, Circle and Cygnar, even the Cryx BE looks like a wicked awesome model to paint.
I want to take like 3 Legion heavies and kitbash them together and call it my Throne of Everblight instead of the Tentacled Tower. Heck, mod Thagrosh so he’s riding on a palanquin borne by 3 Carniveans…and then just use the stats.
I took a look at this and thought, “I’m glad I love kaiju and am into Hordes. I’ll get to go Godzilla onto my enemies.”
That Cygnar Colossal is just a beautiful model. I can’t wait to paint one or two.
Im so close to getting into hormachine and now they are going to drop something like this on me. Dang you PP. Now I have to wait to see if there is going to be a Colossal Rhulic warjack.

The rumor is that Searforge will get a battle engine while the other mercs get a Colossal. You can of course always play your Rhulic mercs with the Four Star Syndicate and use the “other” merc Colossal.
Yea, not the same though, I haven’t actually bought my army yet but when I do Im going to buy everything at once. If I don’t go Rhulic I will just go ordinary mercenary or a farrow force.
