  1. Good one guys. Private Contracts has a bunch of good points you’re missing, And Zack’s refusal to give Chaos Theory her due is hilarious. Let’s put it like this, if 45 is minimum , and 5 cards is no big deal, why not just add those 2 extra cards you just can’t cut. Run the studly 47 card deck. 12% is huge in a game like this, as Tim says. And if you do indeed optimize a CT deck to run with as little hardware as possible, the most savings you would see if you were Kate would be 4 credits. One turn. Which you lose gaining credits for and installing the Toolbox. Seems fair to me.

  3. I will say Joshua B. would give more flexibility in scoring Notoriety. But overall not very excited about that card. I would like to point out that the two Weyland cards are great… I love Commercialization and Woodcutter is better than I expected it to be. It’s crazy how one Data Pack changes the game.

  4. Had the chance to listen over the weekend and boy are you guys crazy. Private Contracts one of the worst cards in the set? Madness!

    I’m a little curious what you guys are running for economy in Corp decks down there. Are you just running Adonis Campaign in every Corp deck? It’s certainly less clicks per cred investment, but takes up influence that could be spent elsewhere if you use neutral econ. Likewise, are Whizzard decks popular there? Before being able to add some of these high trash cost econ cards, Whizzard could just tear through the resources of most corps.

    It’s not the best card ever, but it’s far from the worst, and the income cards in the pack were all a solid boost to Corp side.

    Now, in other Netrunner news, why is everyone always set on counting the click to draw a card as part of the card’s efficiency? Until we have draw deck cards that say something along the lines of “Start the game with this in your hand” it will always be the same for every card, so why count it?

  5. I’m still a noob at this game, but Edge of World just seems crazy good to me. That it was only an “honorable mention” seems like madness, but again… I’m a noob. Even if it’s only behind a single piece of ICE, if you can get any brain damage on the Runner it puts them that much closer to a potential flatline.

  6. It matters because you can do other things with that click besides draw the card. Counting the click is an abstract way of subtracting the lesser gain. It’s not 100% accurate — you might draw instead of using Magnum Opus, which is a different sacrifice cost than if you only gave up clicking for 1 credit.

    Or are we talking about drawing into the card instead of drawing to replace it after use? You shouldn’t be counting both. You can only analyze a play based on what you give up (credits) or what you’ll have to do later (redraw + rebuild credits).

    If a prior point (in another article) I made concerning the click-cost of drawing into a runner “attack” card confused anyone… I’d like to set the record straight there. Click-cost is a measure solely of time, not the larger (and far more abstract) measure of credit cost. You’d only measure click-cost if you were more concerned about short-term tempo… applying it to the long-term resource game isn’t really possible.

  7. Again, my noob is showing here, but Public Sympathy isn’t about brain damage, imo, so much as damage generally. It’s obviously intended to counter brain damage (the flavor text makes that painfully clear), but I could see myself running a copy just because I want to be able to stock up on cards. I don’t like always having to live on the edge of flatlining should I encounter a Snare or Junebug or some damaging ICE I can’t break.
