Deck Building from the Dark Side Part 2
By Kordos– January 24, 2013
I feel the Dark Side has a great scope for winning the game, time is on their side so they have greater freedom in strategy to net the game and I really enjoying tinkering with DS decks – I spent far more time on the weekend getting my 2 current DS decks ready to try out than my LS decks as I felt I could spend more time on the theme of the deck without impacting the overall strategy too much
My first Dark Side deck (in my previous blog posts) is solely Imperial Navy cards and all about Vehicles with some trooper back up- all about the Might of the Imperial Forces
My second deck was a bit harder – there are a lot of good Sith Decks on FFG and there are some powerful combos but i wanted to try something different
I wanted a Sith deck to emphasise the other power the Empire exerts over the galaxy the growing crushing power of control and despair and what better Objective set to start with than -

Times 2 of course – what better set to start a deck all about control – Cards to lock down, capture and discard your opponents cards
Next up is

Again times 2 – continuing the capture and discard theme with some cheep upgradeable troops for cannon fodder
And what Deck with a capture theme would be complete without???

Times 2 of course – have to keep control of the play area don’t we?
So that is the ‘Core’ of this deck, 3 sets that I feel will really work together but it isn’t going to really work thus far without

Again we need 2 of these, should ensure to remove any resource problems, not 100% guaranteed though but the 4 Dark Alliance cards should help plus recycled Viper Droids are pretty cool (and more cannon fodder)
So that is 4 sets, all x 2, looking for 1, maybe 2 more for 10 Objectives total. I don’t think I can go past this set to finish off the deck

And doubled up of course for 4 Nightsisters and the rest is pretty good for this deck, more exerting control over the whole play area plays right into the theme of this deck
So that’s it, my second DS deck, Sith Affliation and it gets its first road test in a few hours (along with my second LS deck)
Will let you know how it goes

This is very similar to one of the decks I’ve been messing around with. Instead of the pair of Shadows of Dathomir, I initially had a Corporate Exploitation and an Imperial Command. I found that I was having resource issues, so I swapped out Corporate Exploitation for another Imperial Command, but I haven’t had the chance to test it out yet. I’ll be interested in hearing how your deck works for you.
Mmm…yes. This feels so very dark side. Let us know how it goes!
This looks like it could cause a Jedi Mains deck all sorts of problems. I’d be interested in seeing how it did against a Rebel deck that can get down plenty of units – many of which will be immune to Fett and Detained captures.
Put down by a rebel deck, report and musings incoming
