It’s been a long journey but, within 72 hours, we will have a new Monday Night Monster Champion! This contest has all the earmarks of a big title fight with a great story to go along with it. In one corner, we have Michael Fanner, AKA VolkenVaderland. Volk is relatively new to Team Covenant but has become a force to contend with in a very short amount of time. This is his first MNM and he’s earned a spot in the finals which is an extremely impressive feat in and of itself.

In the other corner is Scott Williams, AKA mrfroggies. Scott is truly one of Monsterpocalypse’s elder statesmen. When you look at his list of MonPoc accomplishments and watch him play on Vassal he seems like he’d be the most intimidating player you could think of but if, like me, you’ve had the chance to meet him in person at an event like MonCon you’d know he’s one of the nicest, most down-to-earth and friendly people you could hope to meet. He’s also the defending MNM champion with a chance to go back-to-back and he’s not going to give that up without one heck of a fight!

I also really love the fact that these two met in the first round with Scott winning. It’s like Volk is the young upstart who suffered a respectable loss to a master but he’s clawed his way back to the top of the mountain to re-claim his prize. Both men are truly deserving of a championship but I, for one, am really looking forward to seeing who takes home the gold!

The game itself will be taking place Sunday, January 26th at 10:00 AM Pacific Time (which is 1:00 PM Eastern Time) on Vassal. You are NOT going to want to miss this one. Who will win…?
