Zach is a tabletop gamer who has been playing and writing about some of the world's greatest games most of his life. He has believed for a very long time that tabletop games are special and that the industry and it's players deserve better than they've had in the past. It is due to this that he founded Team Covenant in 2007. He also strongly believes in not blaming the dice, unless you're playing Yahtzee... which you shouldn't be doing because it's an awful game.
Tollbooth and Data Raven are so good that people use them in other corps — who has been saying NBN has weak ICE? But I agree, Flare looks pretty good. The corp having different ways to go after runner cogs (breakers, hardware, resources) makes them especially dangerous. I’m not sure I’m glad this went to NBN, but I don’t mind all that much.
NBN lacks reliable stopping power. Flare, Tollbooth, TMI, and Urobouros are their only ice with an ETR sub, and of those TMI is the only real early-game option. Like Snare! and Junebug in Jinteki, Tollbooth and Data Raven get splashed not because they’re strong options for their own corp, but because they’re good splashes. Weyland wants them more than NBN does.
