(Green Squadon Pilots each start with +1 hull.)

WINNER: Theorist Jeff (100-0)

TABLE 2
Joe Congdon — joe.congdon@gmail.com
-100-
49 IG-88B w/ AdvS, PTL, Autothrusters, IonC, TBeam, Cargo Chute, IG-2000
51 IG-88C w/ AdvS, PTL, Autothrusters, IonC, TBeam, Cargo Chute, IG-2000, Ion Bomb

Mathieu Guibord — mguibord1981@gmail.com
-100-
12 Academy Pilot
27 Scarif BP w/ ISB Slicer, Systems Officer, TIE mk II, AdvA
19 Trainee w/ Frame, AA
23 Scimitar w/ TIE mk II, TIE Shuttle, Ops Spec, Fleet Officer
19 Epsilon Ace w/ Adv Optics
(Epsilon Ace starts with +1 hull.)

Joe and Mathieu have both switched squads, and this match between their lists looks to be a rather strange one. Mathieu’s list is a close range killer, with 5 blockers/guns and lots of TL+Focus shots. Joe’s list has awful firepower and runs into a list with too many ships to effectively control, but is highly resistant to blocking tactics and has ways to negate most enemy fire. I have to think Mathieu is the favorite here, since Joe’s list takes so long to kill off ships.

WINNER: Joe Congdon (100-0)

TABLE 3
Ryan Fleming — ff24@yahoo.com
-100-
46 Whisper w/ SJ, VI, Krennic, ACD
32 Scariff BP w/ Palpatine, Frame, AdvA
22 Omicron w/ Targeting Scrambler, Courier Droid, Intel Agent
(Whisper can discard a Cloak token to attack normally.)
(Omicron can equip AA during ship placement.)

Tommy Adams — megasilver.hs@gmail.com
-100-
25 Ezra w/ R3-A2, Ad Rush, Gunner
30 Lowhhrick w/ DTF, Wookie Commandos
27 Jess w/ R2-D6, Selflessness, IA
18 Zeb w/ Chopper

Ryan’s ACD runs into a counter here against a guarded R3-A2 + Gunner combo, which looks potentially fatal. Whisper cannot survive long once over-stressed, and Whisper is not quite mobile enough to avoid Ezra’s arc. Is there a play Ryan can make to turn the odds in his favor? He does have the blockers here. Can he position to protect Whisper from stress long enough to break down Tommy’s defenses and get Ezra off the table? This looks like a hard fight for the Empire.

WINNER: Ryan Fleming (46-0)

TOP 8 will end on June 24th. Unreported games will be scored as a double-loss, and a player from the Wild Card pool will move into the vacant seat. If any player needs to drop from the tournament, please let me know so that a player from the Wild Card pool can replace you. Good luck to all players. 🙂

Report winners to my email (GoTeamJeff@gmail.com) or in the comments section.

  1. Message has been said to you that our game will be played on Sunday June 24th, 9 PM GMT-4.

Jam action has been officially spoiled: 360degrees range 1, or in primary arc range 1-2. Theorist, will you confirm this rule for the sake of the tournament ?

    1. I have not seen this spoiled info. Please link. But if FFG has stated that Jam in X-wing 1.0 operates that way, then it operates that way. The only rules changes are those I stated in the format rules — I did not override how Jam works, only decided it when we didn’t yet know.
